Bean Blanket Crochet Pattern

I’m a huge fan of textured crochet stitches. Many of my patterns includes textures and a variety of stitches. See some of my most popular patterns on the home page of this blog.

The Bean Blanket crochet pattern uses the bean stitch. If you are not familiar with the bean stitch, there are instructions for how to make it in the “stitches used” section. The bean stitch isn’t a form of hdc or sc. It’s really just made of several loops. Those loops really transform a simple blanket to elegance.

The Bean Blanket consists of back and forth rows of only using the bean stitch and chain. It’s that simple!

Complete the blanket using a variety of complimenting colors. I’m also a fan of symmetry. I like even lines and even spaces. In this blanket, I used Big Twist yarn found at Joanns. 2 skeins of Sky Blue, 2 skeins of Light Grey and 1 skein of Medium Grey. I started the blanket with 10 rows of Light Grey, 2 rows of Medium Grey and 10 rows of Sky Blue. I repeated this sequence until it was the size I wanted. It ended with Light Grey. Then I used the Medium Grey for a simple border of single crochet stitches.

It’s truly that easy to get a beautiful textured blanket!

If you would like other sizes. See chart at bottom of post for measurements.
