Last week, you sewed your squares together. This week we will be adding a border to your blanket.

Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along – Adding a Blanket Border

Materials Needed

  • I 5.5mm Crochet Hook
  • Medium #4 weight yarn, Big Twist Value Yarns found at JoAnns (100% acrylic, 6oz/170g, 371yds/339m) in Medium Teal, Medium Grey, Soft Grey, and White
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle

Gauge 

  • 4” square = I5.5mm 7.25 Rows x 12.5 DC

Stitches Used/Abbreviations (US Terms)

Pattern Notes

  • Beginning chain DOES NOT count as a stitch

Add a Border

Join to corner of blanket with Soft Grey, or color of choice, using I 5.5mm Hook

Rnd 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), SC around entire blanket’s border placing 3SC in each corner, join

Rnd 2 – 3: Ch 1, SC around placing 3SC in each corner, join.

Using Medium Grey.

Rnd 4:  Sl St in first st, ch 2, DC in next st, sk 1 st, *Sl St in next st, ch 2, DC in next st, sk 1 st* repeat from * to * around, join.
