I have been doing research on ergonomic crochet hooks. Every article and review has led to the Clover Armour hooks. They are reasonable in cost and even more reasonable when you can use a coupon! You can find them at Joanns.

Since I have 2 crochet hook cases from my written pattern, which can be found here. One holds my yarnology hook set. I love this set because it was inexpensive…..again you can use a coupon. And it has every hook that I need, 2mm-7mm. My other crochet case that I made has random hooks that I acquired over time. This time I wanted to create a pouch that all of my new Clover Armour hooks can sit in. I can also throw in some scissors or any other tools I need.

I originally was going to name the pattern the Crochet Hook Pouch, after I finished I decided you could use it for ANYTHING. It could be a pencil pouch, make-up pouch, toy pouch, etc! The possibilities are endless. I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton yarn , which is by far my favorite cotton yarn. It truly is not like any of the others. I then completed mine with a cute toggle button.

Materials Needed:

H 5.0mm crochet hook – Clover Amour Hook

Cotton yarn (I Love This Cotton from Hobby Lobby)

Button – Toggle one found here

Yarn needle

Scissors

Crochet Button Pouch

Row 1: Chain 26, sc in second chain from hook and across. I began mine with a foundation sc, but decided it was too loose. I ended up doing a row of sl st across the foundation row to tighten it. Here is step-by-step details on how to foundation crochet if you prefer this way. If you do a chain stitch, definitely do it in the back “bump” of the chain for a clean edge. Here is a post on how and why to crochet on the back of a chain.

Row 2 –  30: Ch 1, sc across (25) do not finish off

Top flap for closing the pouch

Row 31: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (23).

Row 32: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (21).

Row 33: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (19).

Row 34: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (17).

Row 35: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (15).

Row 36: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (13).

Row 37: ch 1, decrease sc, sc across until 2 st remain, decrease sc (11).

Row 38: ch 1, decrease sc, sc in 2 st, ch 3, skip 3 st, sc in next 2 st, decrease sc (9). Finish off

Fold in half of rows 1-30. Use stitch markers at the ends of row 1 and 30 to line the rows up so you can crochet the sides together.

Attach yarn to bottom right corner of folded pouch. Ch 1 and sc up the right side crocheting the front and the back of the pouch together. Be sure to line up the rows. Sc over the flap closure (placing 2 sc in the corners of row 38 of the flap and 1 sc in each chain for the button hole). Then back down the left side crocheting the front and the back together lining the rows up. Finish off.

Weave in the ends with a yarn needle. Attach a button where the button hole lines up.

There you have it! A cute little button pouch to hold your crochet hooks, supplies, makeup, pens, or whatever you need!
