The Doggy Sweater in size XXS is for dogs 2-5lbs. Finished sweater measures approximately 8”Lx12”W less than 100 yards.
The Dog Sweater Pattern is worked from the bottom up. First make a flap to go over the bottom with post stitches, then work the body in the round. The neck is worked with post stitches.
Using 100% acrylic medium weight yarn it’ll be sure to keep your pet warm. Make it with an I 5.5mm Crochet Hook. My favorite hook is Clover Amour. They have a nice ergonomic handle and glide.
And you can make it in any size using the links below!

thank you, thank you! Finally and pretty all in one piece sweater!! I have a 3 lb chi and she is skinny and didn’t want the seams to be rubbing her. keep on creating, love your work!
Thank you! Glad you found my page ♥️
I want to do the regular chain instead of foundation. How many would I chain to start.
You would start with 24 + ch 1 (since ch does not count as a stitch on this pattern) to get 25 chains. So, ch 25 and hdc in 2nd ch from hook.
I tried making this and the leg holes are not lineing up. On row 13, the leg holes are on the side. I thought I did something wrong and tried it again. Still the same problem. I counted my stitches and I have the right amount on each row. Can you tell me what is happening.
Love your dog sweater patterns. I’m making on my families dogs sweaters using them.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DOG SWEATER. MADE IT IN XXSMALL AND IT FIT JUST ABOUT PERFECT. ONLY ADDED A FEW EXTRA ROUNDS TO THE COLLAR. Sorry I dont know how to post a pic.
Adorable! I finished the XXS for my two lb yorkie puppy but it’s still pretty big. Should I just reduce each stitch ratio by a percentage to get a smaller version? Thanks!
you can go down a hook size or two
The pattern is six stitches bigger than the picture.
A different size is in the photos.
I am so lost with the ch 14 and make a circle. Leg hole circle at neck? No, Okay then other side of collar? No it looks weird, why not join the collar to make a ring and then crochet from there? It makes no sense to me no matter how much I try to place it. Is it a full circle or half a circle?
It is worked from the bottom up. You are first making a flap that will go over the dogs bottom.
