Learn how to crochet the Treble (Triple) crochet stitch with this video tutorial. The Treble Stitch (also known as the Triple Stitch) is a long crochet stitch. It is one of the least popular stitches that I use, but works perfect for crocheting cables.
I use the Treble (or triple) stitch in the Braided Cable Beanie, Braided Cable Throw Pillow, Braided Cable Ear Warmer, and the Braided Cable Scarf crochet patterns. These are more advanced patterns due to the cables. If you are wanting to experiment with one, I suggest using the Ear Warmer pattern.
All you need is some yarn and a crochet hook to get started. If you are unsure which size crochet hook to use, check out the yarn label. There is a suggested hook size listed on every yarn label.
The Treble Crochet stitch is longer than the double crochet stitch. It is worked by yarning over twice, insert hook in to stitch (or chain), yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops.
If you are interested in the hook I am using in the video, it is Clover Amour in I 5.5mm. I love my Clover Amour hooks and can be purchased here…
