I have been crocheting since I was a child. My huge love for crochet has opened this opportunity to teach others through this blog and online learning.

  1. There’s no mention of a beginning chain…?

    1. Pattern uses a foundation row. If you prefer to use a chain, chain to the number in the chart + 1. Beginning chain does not count as a stitch

    2. It uses a foundation row. The chart states how many. See stitches for link of how to make foundation row. Or replace with chaining to # listed in chart + 1. Turn HDC in 2nd ch from hook, with beginning chain NOT counting as a stitch.

  2. can you provide the US Letter hook size please?

    1. An I 5.5mm Crochet Hook – also states under materials needed.

  3. Thank you for the great pattern. It’s easily adjustable to size and the information needed to make a larger hat can easily be figured out from everything in the post (20 inches is generally considered teen or a small adult hat and would never fit over my hair as I have a lot of it!)

  4. This is my new favorite beanie pattern thank you so much, although i found myself doing well over 44 rows for my boyfriends beanie i lost count of the rows but the pattern is easy to adjust as needed. Thanks again.

    1. Can I do this using a light 3, 4 mm hook. If not do you have any similar beanie patterns for same age group that uses lighter wool? A question of funding really, I would like to use the wool I have been given rather than buy anymore.
Should the gauge be the same?
