The Spring Fling Crochet Blanket Pattern is a light weight blanket that is perfect for spring! It is made with Mandala or light weight #3 yarn. Using a K 6.5mm crochet hook makes it even more airy. This blanket is perfect for warmer weather. It is completed with textured stitches.

The pattern is for a baby blanket size, but use the chart below to make a different size.  You could also make with a different hook or yarn weight. Just use your tape measure to assure measurements The possibilities are endless! The textured stitches are also forgiving when using self striping yarn that has abrupt color changes. It doesn’t leave harsh lines from color changes.

Materials Needed

  • Size K 6.5mm crochet hook
  • Light Weight #3 yarn – baby blanket in photos used less than 2 cakes of Mandala yarn about 590 yards each. Worsted weight yarn would also work for this pattern, just adjust stitches and measure.
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • tape measure

Stitches Used

  • Foundation sc – see here to make foundation rows
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Dc – double crochet

Pattern Notes

  • Pattern can be adjusted for any size blanket, below is baby size 36” x 36”
  • See chart for other blanket sizes, complete foundation row for desired width and continue until reaches desired length
  • Because of the textured stitches, I preferred a simple border of 2 rows of sc. You could add a row of crab stitch if you would like.
