We are now in week 5 of the Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along – the Zig Zag Stitch!
The Zig Zag stitch gives the perfect definition to the square. We will use treble and double crochet stitches. Post stitches are not used in this pattern.
If you are coming in late on the Crochet Along, then no worries. We are making a blanket with fun crochet stitches in a square sampler fashion. You can find the previous squares as follows:
- Week 1 – Post Stitches
- Week 2 – Waffle Stitches
- Week 3 – Braided Cable Stitches
- Week 4 – Basket Weave Stitches
Next week we will have the last square, then work on constructing the squares together. Week 8 will be the last week on Oct 23. We will be adding a border to your blanket.
See post HERE where I go over the details of the pattern and materials needed. If you are making the throw blanket size, then you will need to make 10 of the Zig Zag Stitch, week 5.

- Each square measure approximately 7”
- The photos of the throw size, making 56 squares in 4 different colors of all the stitch variations.

This is frustrating. Second time now your videos have said something different to the pattern. Can you please clarify- your video says to foundation SC 27 and we don’t count the two chains at the start as a stitch. The pattern said SC 26. So it’s 27 total including the CH2 at the start, is that right? Or 28?
